2020 Infiniti Q50 vs. 2020 Acura TLX: The Sportiest Sedan

2020 Infiniti Q50 vs. 2020 Acura TLX: The Sportiest Sedan

The 2020 Infiniti Q50 is a real driver’s car. It is geared with Infiniti’s rear biased AWD system and on a RWD platform, which testifies that it was made to be enjoyed around the corners during spirited drives. Not only that, it has some of the highest power ratings in its class, making it an obvious choice for buyers looking for a sporty four-door luxury sedan. The Acura TLX also tries to make a statement in the segment, but falls short in certain categories. Let’s compare these two sedans.

More power in the 2020 Infiniti Q50

One of the main pillars of performance driving is power. And the Infiniti Q50 offers plenty of it. Armed with two levels of performance, it pleases every type of driver at the wheel. The twin-turbo V6 powerplant under the hood outputs 300 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque in all trims except the Red Sport 400. The latter uses a beefed-up version of this engine to crank up the fun to 400 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque.

All trims use a smooth-shifting 7-speed automatic transmission with steering-mounted paddle shifters and downshift rev matching.

The Acura TLX offers a pair of engines, starting with a four-cylinder 2.4 L engine that outputs 206 hp and 182 lb-ft of torque in the base models. Other models get a 3.5-litre V6 poweplant with a 290 hp, 267 lb-ft output. The base models are FWD only with available AWD. The TLX's transmissions don’t offer rev matching.

As you can see, the TLX’s power doesn’t come close to the Q50’s in any way.

More interior comforts and technologies in the 2020 Infiniti Q50

The Infiniti Q50 welcomes you in a world of comfort and technologies the TLX can’t even get close to. Besides the super comfortable leather seats that offer more support than the TLX’s seating options, the Q50 comes with voice recognition for audio, Bluetooth and vehicle information and heated, three spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel and the INFINITI InTuiton system for storing climate, audio, and driving preferences for each Intelligent Key so everyone who drives the vehicle is welcomed with his or her preferences as soon as the door is unlocked. This level of technology is not available in the TLX.

In the end, the Infiniti Q50 is (way) more powerful, sportier and more comfortable than the Acura TLX. You can shop for your car online with us. Our representatives are waiting for your call and can answer all your questions.
