2020 Infiniti QX50 vs. 2020 Volvo XC60

The entry MSRP of the QX50 is $44,998, which is slightly lower than the XC60’s starting MSRP of $46,350. The top-of-the-line QX50 Autograph starts at $58,598, which is much lower than the XC60’s highest grade—Polestar Engineered—at $89,150. Infiniti offers six trims in a starting price range up to $58,598, whereas you can only access three models from Volvo in that range.

The 2020 Infiniti QX50 emphasizes quality performance, not quanitity

The QX50 embraces the road ahead with a 2.0L turbocharged variable compression four-cylinder that creates 268 horsepower and an impressive 280 lb-ft of torque. This is the first engine of its kind in the industry and is revolutionary in terms of balance between performance and frugality.

It works with a continuously variable transmission that features a straight shift pattern on the console and manual shift mode. This engine is also more efficient than any of the XC60’s petrol engines with a rating of 10.8/8.3 L/100 km (city/highway). As a matter of fact, it has a better highway rating than the XC60’s hybrid engine.

The Volvo XC60 offers three engines in its lineup, and two are more powerful than what the QX50 offers. However, these engines have not racked up awards like the QX50’s engine has. The QX50 recently earned the ALG Powertrain Innovation Award for its quality power, efficiency and handling.
