Three things to know about the upcoming Infiniti QX60

Infiniti is going to introduce a model of major importance in the next few weeks/months. We're talking about the QX60 SUV, a vehicle that originated in 2013 under the name JX. It has quietly established itself as an interesting solution for families looking for space and luxury.

Consequently, its renewal is a big deal. But more than that, it's that Nissan's luxury brand is going to offer us a vision of the future with this vehicle, which is why it's even more important. Here are three things to know about it, while we wait for Infiniti to tell us all about it.

A new design signature

Infiniti products are well recognized on the road because they have a strong signature and that signature has been there for many years now. However, it's taken to another level with the upcoming QX60, which carries much more modern and forward-looking lines. We had a glimpse of the direction the company wanted to take with the QX60 Monograph concept presented in September 2020, and everything is confirmed with the production version.

One thing is clear; the model will cause stiffness, so imposing and remarkable is its physical presence.

More refined powertrains

The new QX60 will benefit from the latest version of the group's 3.5-litre V6 engine, an engine that offers excellent performance on all levels, whether it's with the 295 horsepower it offers or with a fuel economy rating that we know is very reasonable (figures to come). What's more, instead of a continuously variable transmission, Infiniti is opting for a newly designed nine-speed automatic transmission, which looks very promising.

Another piece of good news is that the vehicle's towing capacity is expected to increase from 5,000 to 6,000 pounds, which will give owners with towing needs even more options.

Even more luxury

The current QX60's interior exudes luxury, but from what we've seen, the new generation will offer an even more immersive experience. The materials used, in this case, promise to be richer than ever. The multimedia interface will also be completely redesigned and will of course include the latest trendy apps, including Amazon Alexa which is expected.

And considering what the vehicle represents for the future of the brand, we can expect a comprehensive list of equipment of all kinds, including everything related to safety.
